Nameless invested some extra effort and came up with a two layer downpipe heatshield that features an upper anodized aluminum layer with an air gap between it and the lower T304 Stainless heat shield. Above and beyond that air gap design feature, they offer a ultra high temp matte black ceramic coating (two layers, baked independently onto the stainless lower heat shield) to maximize heat resistance.
These ship pre-assembled.
The advantages of running an aftermarket heat shield are improving the heat transfer between the hot turbocharger/downpipe combo and the top mount intercooler situated above it. There are also some other advantages to reducing engine bay heat, but they all go back to reducing the thermal transfer of this excess heat into the components in the engine bay that carry charge air and induction air.
This heat shield retains all of the factory brackets and utilizes factory mount points. It is compatible with most downpipes but is specifcally designed to provide clearance around divorced wastegate designs.
